A guide to skin confidence: 5 tips for feeling great in your skin

  1. 85% of teenagers will get acne1. That means out of six of your friends, five of them will have acne at some point in their school years! While your friends may feel shy to talk about it, you can bet that almost everyone you know has been in the same spot.

  2. Instead of following a lot of TikTokers who use filters to hide any and every blemish or imperfection, which can make you feel bad about your own real skin, fill your page with people sharing their acne positivity. Check out #freethepimple!

  3. Instead of looking at acne as a flaw to your skin, think of it more like a freckle or dimple that isn’t a negative addition. It can be helpful to try and accept that the pimples are there, often they’re temporary, and you should be free to feel confident and without judgement.

  4. Choosing to go without makeup, posting a no filter selfie, or sharing your feelings on acne with your friends can be powerful! Think of the way you will make a person who is struggling with their skin feel when they see your skin confidence!

  5. Many of us experience acne during puberty because acne is often linked to our hormones. The more you learn about your hormones and your menstrual cycle, the more you will feel in control and calm about the changes you are going through as your body prepares you for the next stage of your life!
